Apr 7th - The 4th CHIP program began April 7, 2008. Everyone is making great progress and enjoying better health. Feb 17th - A graduation banquet was held on Feb. 17, 2008, at 4:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the Rocky Mount Seventh-day Adventist Church at 1535 North Main Street near the Rocky Mount Bowling Center. CHIP participants and their families attended this special celebration of their new, healthy lifestyle choices. Certificates of completion were awarded to each participant. Special recognition was awarded to the participants with the greatest improvement in a variety of risk factors and lifestyle habits. Feb 12th - The first weekly session after the intensive four weeks took place at 6:30 - 7:35 PM at the Lifestyle Health Center. The weekly sessions continue each Tuesday evening through April 1, 2008, and then monthly on the first Tuesday of each month for the rest of 2008. All CHIP alumni are invited. Bring a CHIP dish and enjoy the free meal. ($7.50 without a dish.) Feb 7th - The first four intensive weeks of the 2008 1st-Quarter CHIP program are complete! Eighteen enthusiastic participants attended each evening from 6:30 - 8:45PM. The program was packed full of interesting and useful information participants are using to improve their health. Each evening included an informative, entertaining and life-changing presentation by Dr. Hans Diehl, founder of the award-winning CHIP program. It also included cutting-edge presentations by Dr. John Kelly, Executive-Medical Director. Interesting tips for exercise, diet, sleep and other topics were presented by professional volunteers each evening. And last but not least, CHIP Chef Sally Kelly demonstrated something tasty, healthy, quick and easy every evening, as well. Jan 14th - The January-February CHIP program began! Twenty enthusiastic participants are enrolled to attend each evening from 6:30 - 8:45PM. Jan 4th - The WSLS-10 News Health Team did a special report on the Center and two recent CHIP participants. The report aired on channel 10's Friday evening 5:00 PM News. It was presented by Karen McNew, WSLS News Anchor.
Jan 6th - The Grand Opening was a great success. Over 75 visitors joined local officials for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:00 PM on January 6th. A drawing was held and the prizes included many interesting and useful items. The prize with the highest dollar value was a $200 coupon for the registration fee for a spouse to register for the award-winning CHIP program. Other prizes included coupons for purchasing items in the Food Farmacy and products available at the Rocky Mount Lifestyle Health Center.
